Jodie Smith

Jodie provides leadership for Texans Care’s many efforts to improve policies for kids. She oversees our Juvenile Justice Roundtable and Partners in Child Protection Reform. She has worked in and around Texas government since 1998. Formerly with the Texas Cancer Council and the Texas Action for Healthy Kids Alliance, she also worked as an analyst with the House Research Organization and taught Texas and American Government at Austin Community College. She is a Registered Massage Therapist, has a B.A. in Political Science from Texas Christian University, and received her Master’s of Public Policy from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.

 

Fun fact about Jodie: Making up dances and performances with her sister and neighborhood kids was one of Jodie’s favorite childhood pastimes—and remains an activity she’ll choose, given the chance.
