Christen Miller
Public Policy Intern
|
 | A native Austinite, Christen supports our family financial security and child protection work. She received her bachelor’s degree in social work from the University of Texas at Austin, where she was awarded the Victor and Myra Ravel Social Work Scholarship in Children’s Rights. As an undergraduate, she worked in a nonprofit counseling office and travelled to Jinja, Uganda, to volunteer in an orphanage, before more recently serving as an intern in the Office of the Governor of the U.S. Virgin Islands, supporting initiatives of the Children and Families Council in St. Thomas. Currently, she is a second year Master’s candidate at UT’s LBJ School of Public Affairs specializing in Nonprofit and Philanthropic Studies.
Fun fact about Christen: Her favorite movie as a kid was The Little Mermaid. These days, Christen still likes to pretend she’s a mermaid—she can free dive to over thirty feet.
