Juvenile Justice Promise Fund

Invest in the Promise of Preparing Texas Youth for Success, Not Prison

Because we know each child brings promise for our state, we focus our work around five promise areas for Texas: child and maternal health, child protection, child mental wellbeing, juvenile justice, and family financial security. As a donor to Texans Care for Children, you can choose to allocate your gift to a promise fund to ensure that your gift is used to fulfill the promise to Texas children that is most important to you. With your promise fund donation, you can receive special updates regarding Juvenile Justice. Your tax-deductible donation will help us continue the work we have been doing for 25 years to ensure that children become Texas' first priority.

Below is a brief summary of the work you make possible with your gift to the Juvenile Justice Promise Fund

Your gift will be used to support Texans Care's work to ensure children in Texas have a fair chance of avoiding a future of imprisonment and lost potential. Your contribution supports our research into the practices and policies that prevent delinquency and prevent juvenile offenders from becoming adult offenders, as we work to ensure kids who need help aren't sent mistakenly into a system where they don't belong.

Your donation also supports our Juvenile Justice Roundtable, a monthly forum that works to ensure reform in the state's juvenile correctional systems is truly responsive to the needs of Texas youth and to promote better juvenile justice outcomes statewide.

You also help us get the word out about effective juvenile justice solutions for Texas in a way that our state leaders respond to, so real policy change can happen. Your gift ensures not only that we can be a voice for children on important juvenile justice issues, it also allows us to train others to advocate for better approaches to juvenile justice in their communities—getting out the message in the Texas media, in local areas, and to elected and agency leaders throughout Texas that fair, prevention-oriented juvenile justice is a priority for Texans.
