Invest in the Promise of Healthier Texas Mothers and Children
Because we know each child brings promise for our state, we focus our work around five promise areas for Texas: child and maternal health, child protection, child mental wellbeing, juvenile justice, and family financial security. As a donor to Texans Care for Children, you can choose to allocate your gift to a promise fund to ensure that your gift is used to fulfill the promise to Texas children that is most important to you. With your promise fund donation, you can receive special updates regarding Child and Maternal Health. Your tax-deductible donation will help us continue the work we have been doing for 25 years to ensure that children become Texas' first priority.
Below is a brief summary of the work you make possible with your gift to the Child and Maternal Health Promise Fund:
Your gift will be used to support Texans Care's work to increase children's health coverage access, including our work with the Texas Finish Line Campaign and the CHIP Coalition, groups that work year-round to increase access to affordable, quality health insurance coverage for kids.
Your donation also supports our Texas Infant Health Alliance, our monthly forum that promotes health for expectant mothers and babies. Our alliance champions access to prenatal care, breastfeeding, medical support for young Texans, and more to keep our state's infant mortality and premature rates down and to give babies healthier lives.
Your support helps us fight child obesity, as we provide research on best practices in eliminating this health crisis and partner with others in the Partnership for a Healthy Texas to promote better nutrition and physical activity for kids throughout Texas. Your gift helps us get the word out about effective children's health solutions for Texas in a way that our state leaders respond to, so real policy change can happen. With your support, not only do we work to be a voice for children, we also are able to train others to advocate for better health for children—getting out the message in the Texas media, in local communities, and to elected and agency leaders throughout Texas that child and maternal health is a priority for Texans.
