Payday lenders target poor Texans, and single mothers are among the most vulnerable. A recent series, "Debtors' Treadmill" in the Texas Tribune examined the issue looked at the growing crisis in payday lending. Texans Care for Children's Poverty and Economic Security Roundtable dedicated a recent meeting to the topic of payday lending, with a presentation from Texas Appleseed on the practice and its disproportionate impact on poor families, including single mothers. The roundtable is looking for stories from real Texans who have been the victims of predatory lending.
